Private Corporations
The economic importance of the private sector (market segment "Commercial Entities") has always been high in Switzerland. This is partly due to the fact that there are numerous internationally active companies in the trading, production, and service sectors, and especially in the banking and insurance sector. Many major multinationals are headquartered in Switzerland and are stock- and/or bond-listed on the SIX Swiss Exchange. This is one of the reasons why the Swiss financial center, and in particular the SIX Swiss Exchange, enjoys a significant international position.
We differentiate between the following sub-segments in the market segment of private companies:
- Trading, production, and service companies
- Banks & Insurances
- Real estate & mortgages
